Hey, and welcome back to the blog! Today, I’m excited to talk to you about of one of Overland Park, Kansas’s hidden gems: BrkThrough KC. This place is a must-visit, whether you’re planning a fun night out with friends, a date night, or even a team-building activity. I’ve been here twice—once on a date with my wife and another time with our teenage sons—and I can’t wait to show you around!

BrkThrough KC boasts 40 immersive challenge rooms that will put you and your teammates to the ultimate test. These rooms are designed to challenge your mind, body, and skills. Whether you’re a problem solver, a logical thinker, or have a knack for physical tasks, there’s something here for everyone. The venue spans over 22,000 square feet and offers a combination of physical, mental, and skill-based games and puzzles.

When you first arrive, you’ll check in at the front desk, pick a team name, and then you’re off! You can start at any room with a green light, indicating it’s ready for challengers. Each challenge takes about 3 to 5 minutes, so you can see how many you can conquer in either a two-hour or four-hour session. For first-timers, I recommend starting with the two-hour session. It’s a ton of fun, and you can always come back for more!

One of the unique aspects of BrkThrough KC is that most challenge rooms are closed-door to ensure an authentic experience. Unfortunately, this means I can’t give you a breakdown of the inside of the rooms today, but trust me, the element of surprise makes it even more thrilling! However, some open-concept rooms are available, that you can see from the public areas of the venue.

What makes this venue great is the diversity of the challenge rooms. You won’t know exactly what to do the first time you enter a room, which is part of the fun. The initial part of each challenge is figuring out what the challenge is and how to complete it. It’s essential to have a well-rounded team with a mix of physical, athletic, and problem-solving skills to maximize your chances of success. Once you open the door, the countdown begins, so make sure you’re in the zone!

You can try each room as many times as you’d like, but only your highest score in that room counts toward your total score, which you can compare against other teams on the scoreboard. Some rooms stumped us, even after multiple attempts, but don’t worry—there are clues on the doors, and the staff is always ready to provide basic but helpful hints.

When you need a break from the action, head to BrkThrough KC on-site restaurant. They offer a delicious selection of appetizers like street corn dip, Korean BBQ wings, nachos, and pretzels. You can also enjoy sandwiches, burgers, and flatbreads. Their tap list features over 20 local craft beers, wines, and seltzers from a self-pour wall. It’s the perfect spot to refuel before diving back into the challenges.

BrkThrough KC is an ideal venue for hosting events, whether social, corporate, or youth parties. I’m already planning to bring my real estate team here for our next team-building event, and we might even host a client event someday.
